5.7.17- Year 4 Sports Day

Year 4 had a lovely time during their sports day. They enjoyed competing with their teams in different races & especially enjoyed collecting their stickers.

Race for Life 16.6.17

Year 4 had a brilliant time during this year's annual Race for Life. The children were very excited to go on to Stanningley Park in their P.E kits with their personalised race-cards. Before they raced the children had a warm up with Gaz and Stephen. After that they then went onto running laps around the course, before being awarded with a well deserved drink and a medal. A MASSIVE THANK YOU to all the adults from home who came to support us and who sponsored the children and helped us raise lots of money for the different charities.

Class trip to Nell Bank 26.5.17

Year 3 & 4 enjoyed a very exciting day out at Nell Bank in Ilkley. During the day the children took part in different activities including water play, pond dipping, mini beast hunting & orienteering. The sun shone all day & the staff were incredibly proud of all the children.

Literacy learning - Art or graffiti

This week Year 4 have been learning about how littering can have affects on the environment. Their literacy learning was based around comparing settings & using lots of descriptive language to describe the settings before scenes of littering & after. The children also had some really mature discussions around what is art or what is Graffiti.

Decorate an Egg Competition 31.3.17

All the eggs entered into the Decorate an Egg Competition were amazing & had clearly had a lot of time & effort put into them. The children enjoyed looking at each others entries & celebrating each others successes.

Red Nose Day - 24.3.17

Year 4 enjoyed wearing something Red to raise money for Red Nose Day.

Healthy Week - Boxercise

Chloe from ' Chloe Moore's Fitness' came into school during Healthy Week & the children in Year 4 loved taking part in Chloe's Boxercise session as well as learning new skills.

Healthy Week - Healthy Snacks

Year 4 were delighted to have a session with Miss Di during Healthy Week. The children all got to make their own "Knickerbocker glory," using different fruits & yoghurt.

Year 4's Class Assembly - 8.3.17

The children of class 4 did an amazing job of sharing their learning during their class assembly today. They shared learning about Stone Age, fractions as well as showing the performance's they had learnt with Colin, Julie & Adam. To finish our assembly Lewis even gave us a rendition of his winning song from the talent show.

World Book Day - 2.2.17

World Book Day was lots of fun in Year 4, with everyone making a super effort with their outfits.

Pancake Day -28.2.17

The children in Year 4 enjoyed some Pancakes today !

Colin, Julie & Adam - 28.2.17

As part of book week we had a visit from our favourite poets Colin, Julie & Adam. We looked at two stories by the author Michael Morpurgo, Dolphin Boy & also Little Albatross. The children had lots of fun working with Class 3 to learn the actions to re tell the stories through drama.

Stanningley's Got Talent - 10.2.17

We had some AMAZING acts from Year 4 for this year's Stanningley's Got Talent. A BIG WELL DONE to everyone who took part we are all so proud of you.

Spring Disco - 9.2.17

Everyone had a great time at the Spring Disco, they enjoyed dancing, playing games & of course having their Hot Dog !

Cheer Workshop - 7.2.17

Year 4 had a real treat today, when some students from Leeds West Academy came to show the children some Cheerleading skills & teach them a routine. Lots of fun was had by all.

Fractions in Maths - 13.1.17

In Year Four this week the children have been looking at fractions in maths. Using the Cuisenaire Rods children found 1/2's , 1/4's , 1/3's & 1/8's

Panto Day 16.12.16

The Pantomime this year was Dick Whittington & lots of fun was had by all.

Visit from Santa 15.12.16

During the Year 4 Christmas Party Santa visited us and he had a gift for everyone.

Year 4 all had a great time at their Christmas Party. Merry Christmas everyone !

Christmas Church Service at St Thomas 14.12.16

It was another amazing Christmas Service this year at the church, with Olivia & Michelle singing solo's in the choir.

Christmas Performance 13.12.16

Year 4 were amazing during their Christmas Performance of Christmas with the Aliens. Everyone worked so hard on learning their lines & they raised the roof with their singing. We are all so proud of everyone !!

Cash 4 Kids 9.12.16

We all enjoyed dressing up in our Christmas outfits to raise money for the Cash 4 Kids appeal. Thank you for your support.

Year 4 Assembly 23.11.16

Year 4 have performed their first annual Assembly for their friends and family. The children all took part and delivered their lines with confidence and clarity. They particularly enjoyed performing the dance they had learnt with Colin and Julie as part of Black History Month. Thank you to all those who came to watch.

Children In Need 18.11.16

The children of class 4 enjoyed coming to school in non uniform to help raise money for Pudsey Bear. Some children even brought some coppers from home to help create a giant Pudsey.

Street Dance Session 18.10.16

As a special treat, the children had a visit from 'Flexdance' company. All the children took part in the session and had a thoroughly good time learning a routine to some famous music.

Harvest 19.10.16

Year 4 performed fantastically in the harvest festival with their own song called 'Thank you'. They were very generous with the food they brought in, this will be shared in our local community. Thank you for all your donations.

Colin and Julie - Black History Workshop 4.10.16

In celebration of Black History Month, we had a visit from our friends Colin and Julie to complete some black history performance poetry. Our learning was based around Nelson Mandela! We loved learning a poem about his life and enjoyed acting out a biographical story with actions.

Temple Newsam 28.9.16

As part of our Tudor topic, we visited Temple Newsam and took part in a 'dress to impress workshop'. We dressed up as the rich Tudors and performed a simple dance. Afterwards, we went to the farm and saw lots of different animals.

Road Safety Training 20.9.16

We were lucky enough to have a member of the road safety team visit us to concentrate on pedestrian training. We learnt all about the green cross code, then went out in smaller groups to learn how to find a safe place to cross and how cross the road safely.

School Council Elections 16.9.16

As part of our literacy this week, we enjoyed writing our persuasive speeches to try to encourage others to vote to us to be school councillors. Afterwards, we read our speeches to the class and then the whole school voted! Congratulations to our new councillors SOPHIE and KIAN D - we know you will serve us well!

Brain Awareness 5.9.16

To begin the school year, we learnt all about how our brain works. We looked at our learning styles and the basic needs that need to be met for our brain to work properly. Together, we enjoyed taking part in lots of creative and fun activities!
